Care and Maintenance Instructions
Here are a few recommendations to keep your new custom cabinets
looking great for years to come.
Periodically clean and protect the cabinets with
a good oil base wood cleaner. This
will help keep your cabinets looking new and protect them from
water damage. Your finish is a durable high quality furniture
grade lacquer finish. Although wood is never completely “water
proof” and cannot be guaranteed against water damage you
can take certain precautions to preserve your finish on your cabinets.
The best way to care for your cabinets is to keep
susceptible areas dry. These areas would include, but are not
limited to, areas around the sink and dishwasher. Never open the
dishwasher when it is hot and steamy. This will dry out the finish
and cause early fatigue on the finish. Use lemon oil or “Cabinet
Magic” on your cabinets. We recommend using these products
weekly on the areas susceptible to water damage and the areas
where you handle the cabinets daily. The rest of the cabinets
should be wiped down with these products about once per month.
These products are not a wax and will not build up or yellow.
They can be found in most hardware stores in the paint section.
Remember, your cabinets are made of wood and “wood
and water do not mix”. Water is the #1 cause of finish deterioration.
Take care of your cabinets and they will look new for many years.
